Sorry that I haven’t posted in such a long time! I have been super busy over the weekend with lots of fun Christmas Break activities! And then I was sick yesterday… I also now have limited internet access which is rather annoying cause I can’t jot out a post whenever inspiration strikes me.

I now have limited access to my computer and I have mixed feelings about it.

Well, for one every time I try to open up the internet it refuses to. Secondly, the internet has already shut off once since I started writing this post. Third, I haven’t written a post for 5+ days and this is NOT because I haven’t had inspiration (i.e. I haven’t been able to get on the internet). And…yeah. Moving on.

Jingle Bell Rock

I love Christmas.

I know, original as THAT attention-grabber is (not), it is completely true!!

Friday and Saturday were filled with fun for me!!

On Friday, I helped at a cookie exchange. There were about 7 kids there and I babysat them. Then after that, I ran my fastest 5K time ever. 21:58 or something like that! I ran my first 2 miles at 5:30 and then 5:20 but slowed considerably for my last mile. Regardless, I was thrilled with my flighty feet! 😉 I will remember to stock up on Christmas Blend Starbucks before my next race! At 2:58, my sister, my LRF/LRB, her sisters, mom, and friend all boarded the train bound for CHI-town. We ended up at Macy’s! 🙂 john (my amazing bro!!) didnt go 😦

Trying on dresses, window-shopping, laughing. We got dessert at the Walnut Room. We were all starving for dinner but we had brought packed dinners, so we snuck bites of our dinner in between our waiter passing by and being granted wishes by a fairy. The Walnut Room is a tradition for our family and is so beautiful when it’s all decked out for Christmas. Well, it always looks elegant, after all it is a Walnut Room but the tree in center-stage is So Big and always looks like lots of work went into it. The window displays, however, I cannot say as much for.

The first year we went to Macy’s (then Marshall Field’s) the windows told the story of Cinderella. Almost every window was filled with a stunning display of handpainted puppets and scenes. A lot of time, effort, and probably money, went into the displays. Macy’s doesn’t care. Their windows have no stories. Seriously, it’s so lame I want to laugh or cry. Moving on…

After that, we went in a couple of stores but didn’t buy anything. At the train station, we got McDonald’s. We arrived back home around 10. Fun Day.

Saturday, Abby and I got up at 6 and got ready. Then Mom took us out for Starbuck’s where we talked about life for an hour. Then we met our nana and aunt and they took Abby and I christmas shopping!!!!! We went to Goodwill and IKEA and the Promenade. i have plenty of pictures and I WISH I could post them on here but my camera ran out of batteries yesterday and I can’t find my charger so… 😛

We shopped from 8:30-5ish and then they drove Abby and I home where we ate quiche and watched a christmas movie. I was SO tired. I wish that I could write about every single thing my nana and aunt bought me but they are supposed to be Christmas presents so I have to FORGET about them!! 🙂

I am just saying that they are very very generous with us and it’s also fun having girl time with them! 🙂

I am sick of school and tired of being tired but all that’s ending soon cause Christmas break is COMING!!! YAAAAAAH. Can’t wait.

So, what do you want for Christmas?

I hate that question.

Because I never know what I want.

The big things I really wanted this year were a Garmin and a subscription to Runner’s World.

I bought my Garmin myself because I couldn’t wait til Christmas. My Nana got me a subscription to Runner’s World as an early Christmas present!

So, recently, I have been asked many times by friends what I want for Christmas.

“What do you want for Christmas?”

“Hmm…well, i don’t really know. I kinda already have everything I want.”

Yesterday I went to Target.

Target is amazing. Target is like the BEST PLACE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. And Target has stuff I want.

Every stinkin’ time I walked past the athletics section I was like, “I want…”

Yea, my issue is that I don’t really like to spend all that much money on myself. it makes me feel selfish. I have no issue buying expensive things for other people though. Like, once upon a time, I wanted this really expensive brand of mascara (ok, i know that’s lame, but this is a true story) but I didn’t want to buy it for myself cause it was EXPENSIVE. So I got it for a friend for her birthday instead. 🙂 Whatever.

I am not dead cause I didn’t get that mascara and my friend is happy cause she got awesome mascara from me! So I guess everything worked out!! 🙂

Ok, so back to my point, which is that there’s all this awesome running stuff at Target and I want it ALL!!! But it’s all super duper expensive. And, i went to MC Sports to get new running shoes. I had to walk right past the women’s running clothes. *drool* Ugh. I want it all. On Friday, I’m going shopping with some friends, like Christmas shopping. BUT, clever me has already been stockpiling some presents for people so I only have to buy a million presents instead of a million and 5. Woot. My hopes are that I will be able to buy something for myself also cause when things I want are on insane sales I will go buy it! 🙂 We’ll see. Although I probably shouldn’t buy stuff for myself because then no one else will know what to buy for me.

See, I am one of those people who has money and a job that supplies me with money every week. So if I want (or need) something, i go and buy it. That’s why the things I want right now are like:

1) a facebook

2) unlimited texting

3) an iPod.

See? But I’m not allowed to have any of those things.. so maybe this is just a case of wanting what you can’t have?

But I want running stuff. Like those spandex compression running pants

(i have them in capris and totally adore them). And there’s something called a SPIbelt. which is a belt to wear when you are running. i actually just found out about it but there are great reviews on it and I want it!!! 🙂

ok, enough.

Dancing to Christmas Music

The funnest thing in the world:

Blasting music and singing to it at the top of your lungs.

Ok so maybe it’s not the funnest thing ever but it is REALLY fun!!!

And right now, we (the kids) are hooked on Christmas music!

Obviously. 🙂

Well, my little brothers are hooked on all things Christmas. They have 3 small Christmas trees set up in their room, a Christmas train, and like 5 strings of Christmas lights all hung up in their room. And they did it all themselves (well, John helped a little) because my dad has a “no Christmas before Thanksgiving” rule… which no one follows. Sorry Dad!

Also, these two little Christmas elves I am related to, have a radio playing 93.9 LITE FM CONSTANTLY. It’s nice because when I walk upstairs I can hear it and I LOVE Christmas music!!

Yesterday, Pete came and got me from my room and we danced to the Peanuts Christmas song!!

Today I have decided to write about myself.

Now. You may be confused thinking,

“If she’s gonna talk about herself today what has she been talking about for the past 3 months?!”

Well, see I have been talking about myself all this time…because isn’t that the point of a blog? To get “my slice of life” or something like that?

Regardless, before, I just kind of talked about myself in a roundabout way. 🙂

Now I am gonna talk about myself very obviously!

I love makeup!

Concealer, then brown eyeliner on top and black eyeliner on bottom and then mascara and voilá! You have me!!

Lol. Thankfully I don’t have the whole world reading this entry, only like… 10 people!

Another thing I love is Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And guess what?! It’s almost Christmas!!! 93.9 Lite FM is playing Christmas music full time! Yay!

I love music because I have memories for all these different songs! 🙂 So, that’s why I like Christmas music so much cause it reminds me how much fun Christmas is and how darn awesome it is!!!

Ok, enough about me. I just found my black eyeliner so I gotta finish my procedure cause I am GOING somewhere in 2 hours! 🙂

Countdown almost over!

Wow! The countdown’s almost over!

3 days.

You know, I have noticed that many people don’t get too excited about their races. Even if I run a million, I will never be one of those people. I love to run and I love to race. I will always be excited.

Another thing I know is that this will change my life forever. Now, this may seem a) shallow, b)dumb, or c) a little overreactive. But, it’s not…well, okay maybe it’s a little overreactive, but that’s me so get used to it. The thing is, this is going to an accomplishment that I will never forget for the rest of my life. It’s going to be high up on my list of accomplishments. And I will SO do it again!

A couple things:

1) My knee… when I was younger, I did gymnastics and kidna busted up my knee. At the doctor, they said I had Osgood Schlatter symptom. But, I don’t think I have that, anymore. I think I have too-much-running knee. I got it last November too and had to stop running for the year. it’s jsut starting but I REALLY don’t know what to do. SHould i ice it? I vow to stretch before and after each run I ever do from this point forward!

2) Sorry that I haven’t posted on here for a couple of days. 😦 I have been too busy writing the world’s most magnificent paper ever. Well, not quite…but I am really proud of it! I will put it on here Sunday. ( It’s due Saturday and I don’t want any plagiarism!!!! :O )

3) Guess what my wonderful brother (and Dad) bought for me? A running belt!! I love it! I took it with me for the first time yesterday when I went running early with my Loyal Running Friend! I brought my camera.

What a beautiful morning! I love running at sunrise!

4) Halloween decor at 7 in the morning is WEIRD!! One house actually scared me. Another house had legs sticking out of the ground and as we ran past I was like, “Why is someone doing a handstand in their front lawn at 7 in the morning?”

5) I’m excited about Christmas! Yesterday, I walked around my house singing and dancing, “Need a Little Christmas” for… a long time. Then I realized it was probably kinda annoying! I ♥ to sing though!
